About "Visual Seed"

Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already ripe for harvest! - John 4:35

Why Greeting Cards?

When I felt impressed by God to create Greeting Cards to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ - I confess that my initial thoughts were that Greeting Cards seemed a bit extravagant. Using them to evangelize would no doubt be more costly to produce than the traditional bible tract and perhaps even wasteful - since the cards would be given or mailed to "strangers" , who more than likely would simply throw them away.

An there were other words that came to mind besides "extravagant" and "wasteful" -  words like "excessive" and too "lavish".

Extravagant - costing too much; exceeding what is reasonable

Wasteful - tending to waste or squander

Excessive - more than is necessary; extreme

Lavish - elaborate; to bestow something in generous quantities

And then I felt God basically asking me - "Is not My LOVE for all of mankind "EXTRAVAGANT"? Have I not "LAVISHED" you with My LOVE? Were you not all "STRANGERS" for whom My only begotten Son died? Was  not all that He endured on the way to the Cross - "EXCESSIVE"? Have not many "THROWN AWAY" or dismissed the significance of ths ULTIMATE SACRIFICE that was made? Have they not comprehended the "COST"?

This made me think of the film regarded by many Believers to be the greatest depiction of what Jesus possibly endured on His way to the Cross - "The Passion of the Christ". This graphic account was also the reason why many Secular Critics hated the film. The dramatization of the horrific beating and treatment He underwent was much to savage and brutal as far as they were concerned.

In a highly unfavorable film review, for example, a critic said of the film, "If you relish the sight of a healthy male body being systematically demolished, beyond the farthest reach of plausible endurance, "The Passion of the Christ"is your movie". Another movie critic, sickened and appalled by the graphic nature in which the beating of Jesus was portrayed, actually referred to the film as "an obscene bloodbath". Clearly in the minds of many

film critics around the world the depiction

of the cruel & inhumane beating that Jesus

experienced was EXCESSIVE - It was "Over-

Kill" according to them - pun intended.

Yes, "The Passion of the Christ" was and is

considered to be one of the most disputed

and controversial films in the history of

cinema. Principally because of almost two hours of what detractors of the film felt was an overly graphic depiction of "violence and sadism".  WAY TOO MUCH BLOOD -  was what seem to be the consensus among those who hated and hate the film.

But of course the portrayal of the cruel and excessive nature of the beating Jesus endured was and is exactly the point - a point totally lost on those who have no concept as to the significance of the Son of Man's blood being shed, or any grasp as to why JESUS HAD TO SUFFER in the way in which He did. His crucifixion WAS NOT the sanitized rendering seen in old paintings and medieval murals. Isaiah 52:14 says that "his visage or appearance was marred (or disfigured) more than any other man. So much so that he no longer resembled a man", In order to atone for the sins of the ENTIRE world what Jesus would experience and endure had to exceed what was unimaginable for any human being,

So this is the inspiration and driving force behind VISUAL SEED, spreading the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ in an UNUSUAL and EXTRAVAGANT way - through Greeting Cards that are both visually arresting and thought provoking.

PLEASE PARTNER WITH ME IN PRESENTING THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST IN THIS FRESH NEW WAY. THANK YOU!

Spiritually Immunized from the Pandemic (or Psychological Infection) of "FEAR"

Did you know that our natural immune system resides in our stomach? That is where our immunity from disease begins, which is why what we eat is so critical to our natural health and well-being.  Well, we were also given a spiritual immune system - after inviting Christ into our hearts. John 7:38 says, "He that believes on Me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly (or inner most being) shall flow rivers of living water". And this is where our immunity from the emotional and psychological infection of fear and anxiety begins.

Of course the most prevalent issue facing everyone right now is the global pandemic, which has impacted Believers and Non-Believers alike. And this impact has been both EXTERNAL and INTERNAL in nature. Externally we have seen with our eyes lives and livelihoods being lost or affected by those who know God and those who do not know Him.

Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
3 The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

- Isaiah 60:1-3

But there is also a PANDEMIC OF FEAR, which has taken a far greater toll. Apart from the toll it has taken on our economy, on our educational system, and on our society as a whole - it has also taken a toll on our collective psyche - the INTERNAL impact that this health crisis has had. But this is also where there should and needs to be a very clear distinction between Believers and Non-Believers - in terms of the RESPONSE to all of this.

As Believers we have in us a Spiritual Immune System - placed in us when we became spiritually regenerated - which is designed to protect us from the infection of FEAR. 2 Timothy 1:7 says that, "God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 1 Peter 2:9 refers to the Body of Christ as a "peculiar (or strange) people". Peculiar or strange to whom? - the World of course. And wouldn't it be seen as peculiar or strange to not APPEAR to be afraid or fearful during this global pandemic? The passage goes on to say that because we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and a  holy nation as well as a peculiar people - that we should show forth and  proclaim the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.

What would happen to the Corona Virus Pandemic if collectively the Body of Christ refused to succumb to the climate of fear that it has created throughout this country and the world? And instead, The Church bombarded Heaven with consistent and unrelenting Praise?

JUST A THOUGHT!

There are four different Greeting Cards addressing the Pandemic that are featured on this site. A great many church congregations throughout the United States have not gathered together to physically fellowship with one another since March or April of 2020. And as a result, thousands of church members feel isolated and even afraid as they "shelter in place". These cards were designed with them in mind - to uplift, to undergird, and to remind them that they were spiritually immunized by God from the psychological infection of FEAR!
